Andrew is the CEO and Managing Director of Shortall Lawyers Limited.
Andrew has practiced law since 2011 and is both an excellent lawyer and an entrepreneur, with a proven ability to craft effective strategy and to scale businesses.
Andrew’s primary role at the firm is to lead, mentor and develop his team, instilling values such as accuracy, efficiency and pragmatism which have always been his trademark.
Andrew has an eclectic set of interests including architecture, antiques, fast cars and business biographies.

Nick is a Director with a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from University of Auckland.
Nick is an expert in the areas of Residential & Commercial Property Conveyancing, Family Trusts, Relationship Property and Wills & EPOAs. Before joining Shortall Lawyers in November 2019, Nick worked as a Trust Specialist in New Zealand Trustee Services Limited and also as a Solicitor in Khan & Associates.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys reading, movies and listening to music.

Ethan has a conjoint LLB/BCom degree from University of Auckland.
Ethan is a General Practitioner with particular focus on complex private client matters which include complex estates, trusts, asset protection and asset restructuring.
Ethan brings with him extensive experiences gained from working at specialist boutique firms, mid-size city fringe/CBD firms to a large CBD law firm.
Ethan is client focused and believes in building relationships with clients to provide a tailored service to suit their needs.
In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family (which includes 3 dogs and 2 cats), tinkering on his cars (think fast and the furious) and spending time gaming with his friends.

Jimmy is an experienced operations and Human Resources leader with a particular interest in business development. Jimmy also a successful equity investor.
Prior to joining Shortall Lawyers in 2018, Jimmy was a top performing sales executive at Michael Hill International for over 9 years. Jimmy’s experience has enabled him to fine tune his people development, client satisfaction and marketing skills.
In his leisure time, Jimmy enjoys gardening, shopping and interior design.

For the past 40 years, Steve has been involved in all aspects of the legal spectrum, from property law, commercial sales and leasing, wills and estates.
To ensure that Steve’s valued clients at Fowler & Associates continue to be well served with professional legal representation, Steve has now passed his legal practice into the very capable and adept team at Shortall Lawyers.
Steve is fully confident that the Directors at Shortall Lawyers, Andrew Shortall and Jimmy Song, will continue to provide the clients of Fowler & Associates with professional guidance and insight. Steve will continue with Shortall Lawyers as a Consultant and he is still fully involved with the new firm.

Adam joined our firm in early 2023 after working for long-standing reputable law firms for a number of years. He brings extensive experience and expertise in residential and commercial conveyancing, subdivision, leasing and Wills & Estates. He also advises on family trusts and relationship property issues.
Adam obtained his law degrees both in China and New Zealand. He therefore has a thorough understanding of both eastern and western legal systems as well as cultural difference. He was a qualified lawyer practising in Shanghai before he moved to New Zealand. His overseas experience includes Merger & Acquisition, Foreign Direct Investment and Initial Public Offerings in local equity exchange boards.
In addition, he was also an attorney particularly engaged by a top-rated American law firm to carry out an investigation into an alleged violation of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which was ultimately supervised by US Ministry of Justice and Stock Exchange Committee.
Adam is able to provide tailored legal advice and is willing to take pragmatic problem solving approaches.
Outside of work, he is passionate about cooking for his young family.

Linna advises clients on a wide range of commercial and property matters including conveyancing, subdivisions, wills and trusts with particular expertise in complex conveyancing matters. She uses her personable and focused approach to help clients achieve successful results in an efficient and pragmatic way.
Linna completed her LLB(First Class Hons) at the Auckland University of Technology, receiving a variety of academic awards, including the SBM Legal Price for Employment Law and MC Prize for the Top Graduating Student of Chinese Descent and various Dean’s List awards including Judicial Review of Administrative Action, Public International Law, Arbitration and Employment Law.
Linna coauthored “The Confusion of Otway -Who Bears the Cost of Repairs and Maintenance under the Unit Titles Act 2010?” for the Wolters Kluwer New Zealand Conveyancing Law and Practice Bulletin, which was incorporated in the update to the Commentary for section 126 of the Unit Titles Act 2010 under Westlaw NZ.
In addition to her law degree, Linna holds a BCom from China and GradDipCom from the University of Auckland. Her experience in commerce, coupled with her strong commercial acumen and interpersonal skills informs her approach to handling commercial and conveyancing transactions.

Christopher is a senior solicitor at Shortall Lawyers. His main practice areas in the firm include property and business conveyancing, refinancing, commercial leasing, will and estate.
Clients have commented his approach as being professional, efficient, practical, thorough and attentive to details.
Prior to joining Shortall Lawyers, Christopher worked for a long-standing general practice firm in East Auckland and a mid-sized CBD law firm. Whilst at law school, Chris spent his summer interning at a large CBD firm and local council. He had volunteered at a community law center for a year.
Chris brings unique perspectives to his legal practice. Chris’ early career includes a stint in the pharmaceutical industry, R&D in the academia overseas and community services.
Chris graduated with LLB(1st Hons) from AUT, BSc(Hons) from University of Melbourne, and BSc from University of Auckland.
Other than English, Chris can also speak Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.

Before Emily practices immigration and employment law, she honed her skills as a licensed immigration adviser, a position in which she excelled for several years. In addition to her immigration experience, she also brings valuable knowledge in the areas of wills, enduring powers of attorney, estates, and relationship property, gained from her time at a long-standing law firm in East Auckland.
Now, Emily is eager to expand her expertise in property law, and she is excited to learn and grow in this area with the support of the great Shortall team. Her comprehensive educational background, which includes a Bachelor of Arts in China and a Graduate Diploma in Immigration Advice, further enhances her ability to provide a multidimensional approach to her legal practice.
